Much is given...

Luke 12:47-48 KJV

[47] And that servant, which knew his lord's will, and prepared not himself, neither did according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes. [48] But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more.

My mom likes to bring this passage up whenever I have a bad attitude about serving. I have been given so much: forgiveness of sins, a home in heaven some day, a personal relationship with the Lord, not even to mention all of the earthly things God has blessed with. Because of this I should be will to serve and it should be service with a smile.

Just like in this passage, the Lord wouldn't expect this of someone who hasn't become one of his children. But those of us who have, and know the Lord's will should be prepared and serving. 

So next time you really don't want to clean that church bathroom or knock another door just think of how Blessed you are!
