Happy Hanukkah!!

Today is the second day of Hannukah. Pastor Potter was a missionary in Isreal so he taught about the History of the holiday tonight. It's amazing how much of it relates to us even though it is a Jewish holiday! 

The part that stuck out to me the most had to do with the oil. When the Jews were purifying the Temple they had to burn oil for 8 days. There was plenty of oil in the Temple but only enough pure oil to last a day. 

God preformed a miracle and the pure oil lasted the 8 days, but this made me think. The world is a lot like the Temple. There really are a lot of saved people, like the oil, but how many of those hearts are actually pure? God won't use a defiled heart just like he won't use the defile oil. The oil that was defile was a complete waste just like the life of a Christian who won't live a pure life.
